Randy (United States) 7" Single #422 — Product Details

A “product” is a given combination of label name, label country, catalog number and format. Below are details on all known elements and variations of the Randy label’s United States release of catalog number 422 in 7" Single.

Hite and Dorinda Morgan, who owned the Randy label, were responsible for The Beach Boys first record on the X label "Surfin" / "Luau". Just before The Beach Boys were signed to Capitol Records in 1962, the Morgans organized, produced and released the single by Kenny and The Cadets. The instrumental backing track on both sides had been pre-recorded by an unknown group of musicians. Vocals were overdubbed by Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, Val Polliuto (a friend of the Morgans and a member of the vocal group The Jaguars), and Wilson's mother Audree. Recorded on March 8, 1962 at the Stereo Masters Studios in Hollywood, California.
